I really love actor-based/ event-driven programming in general. Most people might only use high-level layers from Ray like Dask or Modin, I have made several ETL projects with Ray Core, really a good platform to handle the life cycle of tasks but performance was not that good. An actor takes around 60-100MB of RAM... with such memory amount, I would rather call it a worker lol. Anyway really looking forward to seeing people do cool things with it

What an awesome response @Châu Phước Nguyễn! I similarly seem to have a really strong “it clicks” feeling working with an actor based paradigm (e.g. really enjoy the Akka framework). Thanks for contributing your thoughts! Agree that 60-100MB overhead is quite much. You really need to some scale to get Ray to show its advantages, but in those cases where it works it does expose a fairly elegant programming model that can pull off impressive feats in terms of scaling properties.
